Through consumer research, we learned New Yorkers’ perception of the YMCAs of Greater New York City was that the facilities were run down and equipment outdated. Our strategy was to leverage the Y’s proud 165-year history of fitness and feature members exercising with the Y’s state-of-the art equipment in the newly renovated facilities in the advertising.
The commercial helped change the negative perceptions as the New York City Y’s most successful membership campaign in history surpassing the new member goal by 20%.
